12:09 pm - Gothic Meetup for Sunday, January 14, 2007, 2:00 PM 2007

For January's meetup we are moving to our new permanent location in Gothland - Grand Central on Oxford Road, close to the railway station. To help you spot us we will bring our toy rotweiler puppy for the table (no you can't eat him).
Still meeting at 2pm, I am going to bring some publicity with me if people could take some away/help design some new stuff.

03:43 pm - New ARA Night Friday 5th January 2007

New night by the ARA team, every first Friday in the month - Films in 'The Tower' and tunes in 'The Belfry'

9pm till 2am - Entry £4 (£3 members before 11pm). You only need to pay membership once - it is for life!

"ARA is a Latin word that means 'altar' or 'sanctuary' and is the name for a monthly club-like event. ARA aims to be an 'altærnative to the alternative', which is why it's described as a club-like event and not a full-on club. Sanctimonia is a variation on the usual ARA night ARAnights website - http://www.aranights.com/

It's held in Sacred Trinity Gothic church which provides a unique space for chatting with friends, watching classic films and dancing to great music. A wide range of music (both new and old) including goth, metal, eighties, EBM and punk.
You would need to bring your own alcohol, but soft drinks and snacks are provided - there's also a pizza shop over the road. Dress code is anything not mainstream: goth, metal, cyber, costume, period, etc.

As it is a new night we are going to check it out, would be great if some of you could join us! We (Grey Wolf and I) will meet you inside unless people want to meet us first in which case please email me and we will arrange something.

GBP4.00 per person

"ARA is a Latin word that means 'altar' or 'sanctuary' and is the name for a monthly club-like event. ARA aims to be an 'altærnative to the alternative', which is why it's described as a club-like event and not a full-on club.

It's held in Sacred Trinity Gothic church which provides a unique space for chatting with friends, watching classic films, dancing till you drop, reading up on the alternative scene, looking at new art or just eating crisps! The whole evening is sonically draped with a wide range of music (both new and old) including goth, metal, eighties, EBM and punk.
Starting at 9pm and ending at 2am, entry is £5 for non-members and £4 for members (joining fee is £1). You would need to bring your own alcohol, but soft drinks and snacks are provided - there's also a pizza shop over the road. Dress code is anything not mainstream: goth, metal, cyber, costume, period, etc.

ARA has a great, unusual atmosphere and aims to provide a safe haven for people to be themselves and enjoy themselves."

Would be good to see some of you but as it is so near the holiday I know you may have other things going on!

06:40 am - Mission Statement

A group for individualist lovers of the Gothic, alternative, fantastic and whimsical.

This is a place where we can be ourselves and not be judged just accepted as the unique and interesting people that we are and make great friends along the way.
We are a comfortably chaotic tolerant mix of ages and backgrounds and try to organise our face to face events to reflect this. Dress and attitude crazy or straight, all accepted.

Here is a place for everyone as long as they are non-judgemental and respect other members.

Daytrips/gigs/films/clubs/shopping/woodland walks/midnight picnics/masquerades/discussions on art, literature, poetry, philosophy, spirituality/ music from all shades of rock through electro to classical. And this is just the start???.

Not sure if it is for you but want to test the water? We have a chilled out meeting on the second Sunday of every month, currently at Gaia, Sackville Street, Manchester. It is a chance to exchange views, hang out and catch up, if you haven?t already done so on the Message Board! Ready to go to an event??.just keep checking the Calendar and feel very free to suggest any events that you think would be interesting. Either way we look forward to seeing or hearing from you.
